BELTWAY SNIPER ARRESTED! - JOHN ALLEN MUHAMMAD
Maryland police arrested two men at a highway rest stop early October 24, 2002 in the first big break in the hunt for the culprit responsible for the sniper slayings that have left 10 people dead around the Washington DC area over the past 3 weeks. Government sources say one of those arrested was John Allen Muhammad, also know as John Allen Williams, who is seen in this undated handout photo. Media reports say the other man arrested was John Lee Malvo, Muhammad's 17-year-old stepson.
